Fascinating. You’ve sold me. Yes, I’ve never read Greene, but it sounds like he is right up my alley

    1. Really? Start with The End of the Affair! And since you like the movie The Third Man, you should check that one out too. It’s told from the point of view of the Trevor Howard character and gives some insights into Joseph Cotten’s character. (The movie is better – how could it not be? It’s a masterpiece – but the book helps to see the movie in a new way.) Enjoy!

Interesting- I did not know The Third Man was a book. My library has The Quiet American and The Heart of the Matter. I was surprised they have so few. But the town is small and they have switched some over to digital now. Would you suggest one over the other?

      2. Touch choice! I’d probably The Heart of the Matter, which was written during Greene’s incredible twelve-year peak. It’s one of his four major “Catholic novels” – if you think geopolitics would be more your speed, then maybe The Quiet American. But really, you can’t go wrong with either – and even if you don’t happen to like them, you should still read The End of the Affair, which is completely different!

I ordered The End of the Affair already from Amazon, it is on it’s way. Thank you for the thoughts. My books to read list is far too tall a stack and I read slowly. But oh well, Graham Greene, had to give him a go.

p.s. did you ever tell about that radio pillow or did I just miss it?
